  • How do I apply?
    Applications must be completed online via the Heriot-Watt University online applications system at http://www.postgraduate.hw.ac.uk/apply/online-application.htm
  • When is the application deadline?
    8th January 2012, 23.00hrs GMT for Erasmus Mundas Scholarship applications for Third Country (Category A) and European candidates (Category B)
    27th May 2012, 23.00hrs GMT for fee-paying students.
  • If I don’t get an Erasmus Mundus Scholarship can I still study on the programme?
    Yes we have a number of fee-paying places on MSPME available. Please let us know if you wish to be considered for one of these.
  • What are the fees?
    MSPME fees include the cost of all administrative expenses, tuition, site visits, guest lectures and travel insurance. Fees for 2012-14 are:
    €15,000 for Overseas Students
    €12,000 for European Union Students
    Tuition fees should be paid in full at Registration, or by Direct Debit in six monthly instalments from a British Bank account. 
  • How do I apply for an Erasmus Mundus Scholarship?
    Applicants who wish to be considered for an Erasmus Mundus Scholarship should indicate this on their online application form. No separate funding application will be necessary.
  • How do I apply for Autostrade per l'Italia and Consortium scholarships ?
    There are no applications for these scholarships. The criteria for selection procedure will be known and published on the website and the facebook page in March/April. You only should apply for the Consortium scholarship if you are able to pay the rest of the tuition fee.
  • Do you give advice on how individuals can improve their chances of obtaining a scholarship?
    Unfortunately, due to the high number of applicants for Erasmus Mundus funding and the fairness of the selection process, we are unable to pre-evaluate eligibility.
  • What application documents are required? Please note we don't require hard copies so don't send documents by post too unless we ask to do so. In Your Application Menu you can submit electronic documents using the link Upload Document.
    • Completed online application form - please make sure you select Postgraduate Taught; Strategic Project Management (European Masters), MSc
    • Motivational Statement (maximum 1000 words).
    • Curriculum vitae.
    • Certified copy of previous university qualification(s). (university stamp is enough, doesn't have to be a translation of notary public)
    • Official university transcript(s) of all marks from all previous university qualifications.
    • Proof of level of English language ability (see also Admissions). We don't accept Toeic, Gmat or Gre. Cambridge CAE and FCE (grade B and above) are acceptable if marks are an equivalent of 6.5 IELTS. Please upload a copy of certificate online, no university code is necessary to provide, we don't require hard copies of documents. If your main medium of instruction was English - please provide a note confirming it, no language certificate is needed.
    • Evidence of any professional qualifications e.g. a diploma from Chartered Institute or any professional body
    • Two letters of recommendation, preferably from the university or institute that awarded the first degree. If you are not able to provide two academic recommendation letters, we will accept one from your employer. No special format is required.
    • A copy of the ID page from your passport.
    • Financial guarantee showing ability to cover the costs of the Course whether self, family, employer or scholarship, (can be supplied at a later date and not required for scholarship only applications). A financial guarantee is a bank statement or reference to show that you have sufficient funds to cover your costs. 
  • Must all the application documents be translated into English?
    Yes, we require an official translation plus photocopies of the original documents.
  • Do you accept emailed documents?
    Please upload all documents (ideally pdf or word documents and not jpeg) with your application if possible. Additional documents can be sent later by email. We don't require hard copies.
  • When will I learn the outcome of my application?
    Applicants will be emailed following selection meetings in February. Please be patient – in previous years we have received over 1500 applications for scholarships to study on the MSMPE and it takes some time to email everyone. We aim to inform everyone by 1 April.
  • Are the courses taught in English?
    Yes, you do not need a knowledge of Italian or Swedish to successfully complete the course, although you can take classes in these languages.
  • Is there age limit ?
    No, everyone can apply.
